December 2, 2006 – TUSCALOOSA, AL – In the first conference action of the year, Morehouse lost 64-52 to defending SIAC champion Stillman College and dropped to 0-3 for the still young season.

As in two previous losses, the Maroon Tigers started out cold and fell behind by 10 points at halftime. Not much went well for the Maroon Tigers who shot 9-of-27 from the field and 0-of-4 from the free-throw line.

The second half was closer, but the pressure of playing from behind took its toll on the visiting Maroon and White who were outscored by only two points after the break.

William Belton paced Morehouse with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 three-pointers. The shooting guard from Fairburn, GA pulled down three rebounds and collected a team-high three steals.

No other Maroon Tiger scored in double figures.

Forward Kwame Agbottah led Morehouse in rebounds with nine. Center James Beasley grabbed three rebounds to go with eight points and reserve forward Edward Pollard contributed seven points off the bench.

All-SIAC forward Monyea Pratt carried the weight for Stillman with 20 points, a game-high 11 rebounds, two assist and three steals. Three other Tigers scored in double figures, as the home team improved their record to 3-2 (2-0 SIAC).

Morehouse will travel back to Alabama next Saturday to face the Miles College Golden Bears at 7 p.m., in Birmingham.
