April 17, 2008 -- TUSCALOOSA, AL -- Morehouse fell into the loser’s bracket then rebounded into the winner’s circle in the SIAC double-elimination baseball tournament.

The Maroon Tigers bounced back from a 7-6 loss to Miles College early in the day and put a 21-8 whipping on Lane College, later in the afternoon.

In the Lane game, outfielder Michael Young broke out the “whooping stick,” going 4-of-5, with three runs scored and five runs-batted-in.

Second baseman Leshawn Lettsome hit a home run, driving in two.

Nine of Morehouse’s 11 hits were for extra bases.

Pitcher Josh Wright got the win.

On Friday at 1 p.m., Morehouse will face Benedict, which lost to Paine, 8-6.
The winner will play Albany State later in the day. The loser will go home.
