Mission

 

The mission of the Office of General Counsel is threefold:

 

1. To provide professional legal services to the College on all matters having legal significance to the management and operation of the institution. While providing counsel toward sound decision-making in all areas of instruction, research and service, we strive to minimize legal risks and costs and reduce litigation;

2. To ensure compliance with state and federal laws, as well as College policies and procedures through the Office of Ethics and Compliance; and

3. To provide legal and administrative support to the College’s Board of Trustees and to serve as the principal liaison between the administration and the Board.

 

The goal is to act with integrity, reason, and knowledge of the law in support of the College’s mission.
