Federal Direct Loan Program

The Direct Loan Program is one of the Federal Student Aid programs offered by the Department of Education, and it provides students with a simple, inexpensive way to borrow money to pay for education after high school. The lender is the U.S. Department of Education rather than a bank or other financial institution.  You have a single contact-the Direct Loan Servicing Center- for everything related to the repayment of your loans.

The Direct Loan Program offers Federal Direct Stafford Loans, Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and Federal Direct PLUS Loans.  Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours in order to receive student loans. Morehouse College will disburse your loan funds by crediting it to your student account. Loans funds will be disbursed in two equal installments.

Entrance Loan Counseling
All students at Morehouse College must complete a one-time Entrance Loan Counseling Session online for a Stafford Loan.

Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Students who borrower Federal Direct Students Loans must complete a Master Promissory Note.
