Doris E. Coleman Bio
Doris E. Coleman is the Director of Ethics and Compliance for Morehouse College. She is responsible for advising the Administration and the Board of Trustees of actions to be taken to identify and mitigate risks within the College. She oversees and monitors the ethics and compliance program by fostering a culture of ethical behavior and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, statues, policies and procedures. The Ethics and Compliance Office is also responsible for demonstrating, in the clearest possible terms, the absolute commitment of the College to the highest standards of ethics and compliance by preventing, detecting and eliminating regulatory violations, fraud and abuse, if they exist within the College. In addition, the office is responsible for ensuring that all faculty and staff are provided with policies and procedures, informational resources and training that promotes law-abiding and ethical actions in all workplace conduct.
Prior to joining Morehouse College in 2008, Ms. Coleman held positions at the Civil Rights Division of the U. S. Justice Department, the Witness Protection Program, Gemini Air Cargo and Transmeridian Airways. She holds a B. S. degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology from D. C. Teachers College and a M. A. degree in Legal Studies/Employment Law from the Antioch School of Law. She is currently a candidate for a M.B.A. degree from Kennesaw State University. She is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association, and the Society of Human Resources Management.
Ms. Coleman is a native of Washington, D. C. and enjoys fine arts and crafts, music and the theater.
