Freshman/Sophomore participants are allowed 10 to 12 hours per week and Junior/Senior participants are allowed 15 to 20 hours per week.
Freshmen and sophomores: This training includes strong academic advising and support, a foundation in science and the research process, and an introduction to research conducted in a biomedical research laboratory.
Juniors and seniors: These students conduct research in biomedical research laboratories at least 15 hours a week during the academic year. Faculty mentors are required to have an active, externally funded research project and have either published a refereed journal article in the last year or made a research presentation at a national meeting within the same period.
