In accordance with the Foreign Languages requirements for the College, students are requested to have certain hours of lab time each semester. The Language Lab is available to students from the hours of 9a.m. to 5p.m.. The Lab Director and several lab assistants are available each day to help students and professors with equipment and study guides.
The College boasts a very functional Audio/Visual Center, which serves the entire faculty, staff and student body. There is also a fine video library that has over 400 videos. In addition, there are TV/VCRs in several classrooms in Brawley Hall and viewing room, which has cable capabilities enabling students and professors to watch foreign language broadcasts and other public service, projectors, projection screens tape recorders, video camera, video recorders, and an international video recorders, which has the capability of transferring video signals from any country in the world. Audio/Video recording and editing are special services offered in the center. Also special classes, projects and/or activities may be videotaped and dubbed. Dubbing and other such services are provided only if copyright laws permit.
Requesting Audio/Visual Services
Requests for audio/visual equipment must be made in writing on an Equipment Request Form, which can be obtained from the Audio/Visual Center or from the Administrative Assistant in the Modern Foreign Language Department. Forms be completed, signed and turned in at least 24 hours in advance. Telephone calls are not accepted for requests.
