David Wall Rice
Assistant Professor of Psychology
David Wall Rice is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Principal Investigator of the Identity Orchestration Research Lab at Morehouse College. He was recently named an Editorial Advisory Board member of The Journal of Popular Culture, and continues his duties for a third year as Contributor to the national morning news program The Takeaway, a co-production of WNYC Radio and Public Radio International. Rice's book chapter, Black Males, "Church" and Supplementary Education: General Considerations, is in press now as part of The Edwin Mellen Press volume Perspectives on Comprehensive Education. He is currently working on his second book, I Ain't No Joke: Identity negotiation through the narratives of hip-hop lyricism (Rowan & Littlefield) while extending research he presented this summer at the American Psychological Association Annual Conference. This research attends to Black men and identity in the Obama Era.
