Dr. Mary Behrman
Assistant Professor of English

Mary Behrman teaches courses on Chaucer, Milton, and the history of the English language as well as the first part of the British-literature survey. Prior to this position, she taught English as a Brittain Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Emory University and Agnes Scott College. At Emory she wrote her dissertation, “Chaucer, Gower and the Vox Populi,” under the direction of Professor John Bugge. She also has received a certificate in electronic pedagogy from Georgia Tech. Dr. Behrman has published articles in The Chaucer Review and The Henry James Review, and she has presented papers at several national and regional conferences. Currently, she is working on an article concerning Chaucer’s Parson’s Tale. Her scholarly interests include Ricardian literature, medieval women writers, Arthurian literature, and the works of Henry James.
