TEACHER
PREPARATION AT MOREHOUSE COLLEGE
“Is There A Teacher In The ‘House?”
The
Center for Teacher Preparation at Morehouse College enables Morehouse
College students to pursue a program of study leading to official certification
as a public school teacher in the state of Georgia.
- State
certification is generally transferable to other states.
- Teacher
certification at Morehouse College is offered in collaboration with
Spelman College and provides successful participants with certification
as elementary or high school teachers.
- In
addition, there are a few areas that provide Preschool through 12th
grade(P-12) certification.
- Students
interested in Teacher Preparation should contact the Center’s
Director, Dr. Charles Meadows as early as possible in order to properly
plan their program of study. Dr. Meadows coordinates all Morehouse related
teacher preparation activities. Dr. Karen Donaldson of Spelman College
is the Chair of the Spelman College Education Department and is Director
of the Teacher Certification Program.
