Federal Work Study Community Scholars Program
In 1999, the U.S. General Accounting Office mandated that Higher Education Amendments state that 7% of work-study earnings must provide students with the opportunity to finance part of their education by serving the community.
The Emma & Joe Adams Public Service Institute complies with this mandate by:
informing Morehouse College students of community service work-study opportunities;
developing
opportunities with community partners and matching students with their interest
and skills;
providing
transportation to and from service sites;
providing
training;
developing
an evaluation process to determine community impact;
maintaining
and submitting time sheets to Financial Aid in a timely manner.
