Since the Bonner Office of Community Service (BOCS) was institutionalized in 1993, we have forged several partnerships throughout the Atlanta community. We have served as a clearinghouse of community-based information for members of Morehouse College and our surrounding communities. BOCS plays a significant role in helping Morehouse College to fulfill her mission of “developing men with disciplined minds who will lead lives of leadership, service, and self-realization…” by facilitating the involvement in community service while instilling in students a life-long commitment to serving others. The mission has been maintained only because of the strong connections that we have in the community. These are just a few of the areas through which students have participated in community service: local public and private schools, after-school programs, non-profit organizations, hospitals and health care facilities, homeless shelters, food banks, AIDS awareness programs, environmental programs research-based programs, community development agencies, mentoring programs, political groups, business affiliates, religious organizations, and more. We are grateful
for the many successful partnerships that we have established in the community,
and we want to ensure that people are aware of the many different resources
available throughout metro Atlanta. Therefore, we have compiled a brief listing
of various programs that we have worked with and continue to have ties to.
Please utilize these contacts and ask them for information on their programs,
volunteers, or whatever may pertain to your needs. If you have any questions
regarding additional contact information or adjustments needed for the information
provided, please let us know by calling (404) 215-2724. |
