CTEMS Course Overview
Students who seek to declare CTEMS as the major will submit a portfolio of original work of at least one of the following: * Short filmic work (animation, video, documentary, experimental, narrative). The work should have a definitive beginning, middle and end.* A traditional portfolio of at least 3-5 works in media such as drawing, painting, design, illustration, sculpture or photography. Work should exhibit a creative idea/theme * A 5ā7 page piece of fictional prose that demonstrates your interest/talent/passion in the medium. Applicants should focus on narrative structure, character development, plot and the use of setting in the piece. *The first act of a script for film, television, or stage (no more than fifteen pages).
Students must take the following courses (30 hours out of the 42 required for the major): To satisfactorily complete all courses and related electives for the major and minor, a grade of C or higher is required.

Students may not transfer in hours to substitute for any of the above courses. Up to six transfer hours of approved credits may count towards the required elective hours for the major. In addition to the above 30 hrs, the major requires twelve hours in electives.

- HPSY 389 Black Men, Black Boys and the Psychology of Modern Media
