Morehouse Graduates More than 500 Renaissance Men during its 124th Commencement Ceremony
ATLANTA, May 9, 2008 --When about 520 men band together for the last time on the Century Campus of Morehouse College, they will be coming together to end one era of their lives and celebrate a grand new beginning. Morehouse will celebrate its 124th Commencement on Sunday, May 18 at 8 a.m.

Morehouse Announces the 2008 Baccalaureate and Commencement Speakers
ATLANTA, April 9, 2008 – When more than 500 men from the class of 2008 grace the Martin Luther King International Chapel for the last time as undergraduates before becoming Morehouse Men, they will be inspired by a message delivered by H. Beecher Hicks, senior pastor of the six-thousand member historic Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. The Commencement speaker is Morehouse alumnus Emmett D. Carson, Ph.D. Carson graduated from Morehouse in 1981. He currently serves as the first CEO and President of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. The community foundation is dedicated to advancing civic engagement to address the most challenging problems facing San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Morehouse Students Stage the Renaissance Processional on Equality
Students Recreate the Funeral Procession of Martin Luther King Jr. ATLANTA- April 8, 2008 – Forty years after thousands of people locked arms and marched from Auburn Avenue to the century campus at Morehouse College to mourn the death of Morehouse alumnus Martin Luther King Jr, class of 1948, dozens of students and activists will retrace those steps. On Wednesday, April 9 at 1p.m., the march will begin at Ebenezer Baptist Church and end on the campus green at Morehouse College.

World House: Connecting the Global Community
ATLANTA, MARCH 28- 40 years to the day after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Morehouse College will commemorate the readings and teachings of King with a ground-breaking global conversation. Morehouse is partnering with the Digital Worlds Institute at the University of Florida to engage several experts in conversation across continents -- and it will all take place on the Internet. The conversation, which will be explored during the four Fridays in the month of April, will focus on King’s metaphor of the World House, taken from his book Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? The book was published in 1976 and is a part of the 10,000-piece Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection. The “World House” chapter is based on King’s Nobel Peace Prize lecture, which is also a part of the Collection.
