HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm
The Morehouse Student Health Center, located in the basement of Brazeal Hall, is now open Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm. During those hours, a registered nurse and/or certified medical assistant will be available each day to assist students. Dr. Joseph Williams will be available on Wednesday afternoons for student appointments and is on call, by phone, 24 hours a day in case of emergencies. Students, who believe that they are in need of medical care after business hours on weekdays or on weekends, should contact campus police or dial 911.
Our primary goal is and will continue to be to provide the most comprehensive carefully monitored medical care at the most reasonable cost that is possible within the scope of this facility. To provide our students with knowledgeable, experienced practitioners and nursing staff who have demonstrated the ability to expertly care for a wide array of medical conditions. We provide our students with a panel of experts outside of our facility who are well trained, respected practitioners who are particularly sensitive to the needs of our students. We place emphasis on life style modification, health awareness and education. This can best be accomplished by campus-wide seminars and making available literature and audiovisual materials on the prevention and management of common diseases and one-on-one contact with the health care providers, physicians and nurses. We continue to promote good mental health and stress management by establishing a closer liaison with the student counseling center and their consultants. We continually serve as consultants to the college in terms of evaluating and making recommendations regarding health insurance plans for our students. Last, but not least, we strive to be the best equipped facility of this size and will continue to upgrade equipment that will help the in-house diagnosis and treatment of our students.
