Submitting a Proposal

  1. Principal Investigator (P.I.) sends Intent to Submit Form to OSP, with the appropriate signatures of their Department Head and Dean.

    P.I. waits for OSP’s approval before writing the proposal.

  2. P.I. initiates and writes proposal. OSP will help if needed.

  3. P.I. sends proposal to Department Head and Dean for approval, and secures their signatures on the Morehouse College Proposal Transmittal Form (MCPTF)

  4. P.I. sends proposal for review to OSP, at least 7 – 10 days before the proposal due date, along with the MCPTF.

    OSP sends a copy of the proposal to the Director of Special Projects for budget approval. If additional facilities are required, OSP will forward to the VP of Operations for approval. If a letter is needed from the President, OSP will also forward a draft letter (prepared by P.I.) to Correspondence Secretary in the Office of the President.

  5. OSP returns proposal to P.I. with suggested comments. (within 2 days)

  6. Changes made by P.I., if any.

  7. P.I. returns proposal to OSP for final review and submission to VP for Institutional Advancement, Senior VP for Academic Affairs, and VP for Business and Finance for signatures on MCPTF.

  8. After appropriate signatures are affixed to proposal and MCTPF, OSP will make the necessary copies and mail to agency. (If large proposal [over 30 pages] department budget code would be needed for copies and mailing)

  9. Proposal successfully mailed to Agency.
