Dr. Alison Ligon

Assistant Professor of English

 



Alison Ligon teaches Composition and World Literature courses.  Her current research activities are focused upon examining sociopolitical subtexts in literature from the African Diaspora, namely, the Anglophone Caribbean, and oral histories and narratives associated with The Great Migration and its counter movement.  The scope of her research interests include: Contemporary African American literature and culture, postcolonial Caribbean and Latin American women’s literature, and North American popular culture.  Ligon is a member of the Humanities Division’s Learning Communities Initiative, and a supporter of the Morehouse Film and Literature Society.
